NWA Collaboration Projects » Out of School Hours Care

eS4W collaborated with National Foundation of Australian Woemn, Women& Work and Equality Rights Alliance on “Out of School Hours Care and Women’s Labour Force Participation.

In 2011 the Commonwealth Office for Women engaged the National Foundation for Australian Women, through the Equality Rights Alliance, to undertake a project to examine factors affecting women’s work-force participation. The initial products of the project were a report from consultations, including a technical report, published under the title ‘ Women’s Voices’, and submissions  to, and attendance at the Tax Forum in October 2011.

In the course of this project, and in earlier work on similar topics, the issue of access to affordable and appropriate care services for school age children was raised, along with the similar issues concerning care for under school age children.
